Escola Básica 2,3 Piscinas-Lisboa (where we want develop this project) is situated in a residential area of Lisbon, capital of Portugal. EB 2,3 Piscinas-Lisboa has about 600 students. In our school we teach the Portuguese national curriculum to students from 10 to 15 years old. Our school is also a TEIP school. TEIP [Território Educativo de Intervenção Prioritária] means Educational Territory of Priority Intervention, aimed to a group of pupils of a disadvantaged area. Its main objective is to combat early school dropping and unsuccess of a significant group of students who risk social exclusion, most of them belonging to ethnic minorities. Our school is also a reference school for disabled children with multi-deficiency.
Since 2009 we are a host school for Comenius assistants.
This opportunity will stimulate motivation and learning, adding also quality to teaching. This multilateral parnership will challenge our educational organisation to enhance the european dimension of the school management.
